On September 21, The State Council held a press conference on the sustainable development of China's transportation. Wang Xiuchun, head of the transport service Department of the Ministry of Transport, said that at present, China's international logistics operation continues to improve.
First, the national port foreign trade throughput growth trend is good. From January to August, the country's ports completed 3.34 billion tons of foreign trade cargo throughput, an increase of 9.7% over the same period in 2019, an increase of 16.9%.
Second, the volume of international air cargo increased steadily. As of the end of August, the whole industry has 252 freighters, flying to 22 countries around the world; A total of 10.324 million tons of goods were delivered, an increase of 4.9%.
Third, China-Europe freight trains remained stable and unimpeded. By the end of August, 86 China-Europe freight trains had reached 217 cities in 25 European countries. A total of 1.262 million TEU of goods were sent, a year-on-year increase of 23%.
Fourth, the cargo handling capacity of major land ports has continued to improve. It has signed inter-governmental agreements on international road transport with 21 countries along the Belt and Road. In August, shipments at major land ports such as Alashankou, Khorgos, Erenhot, Manzhouli and Suifenhe increased by 89.1% year on year.
Fifth, the international delivery service network has been continuously improved. Express delivery enterprises speed up the integration of sea, land, air and railway international logistics resources, steadily promote the construction of international mail road channels, and improve the layout of overseas warehouses and distribution centers.
